To the Welch Family:
Our hearts go out to all of Jim's family and friends. The world will be a lesser place without Jim's wit and charm. We are sorry that we could not attend his service. We would have loved to see everyone.....time moves so fast these days.

Jim and I were cousins. Our fathers were brothers. The Welch family was not close. I had met Jim's Father and Mother once. Then later in life I corresponded with "Duke" as his family referred to Venice. Jim and I met once when he and Dorothy stayed in Seattle during the Christmas season and we exchanged family pictures. I do genealogy and he filled in information I did not have. Later we spoke on the phone and kept in touch. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I just found the obituary for Bette and was going to call Jim when I found this notice. Again, I want to say to his family, I am very sorry for your loss.
