Virginia C. Gibson, 86, of Eureka, MT, went to be with our Lord on the evening of Saturday, June 15, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1937, in Spokane, WA, to Joe and Hazel (Woodward) Anderson. She attended grade school and high school in Millwood, WA. Virginia married Donald W. Gibson on October 20, 1961, in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The minister said they would have a long life together. Virginia and Don had close to 63 years together. Virginia was able to see many of the states since Don was in the US Air Force. The last move was to Alaska in 1970. In 1971, she worked in a greenhouse and learned more about growing plants. In 1972, she helped start the Aurora Borealis African Violet Club. She joined the African Violet Society of America. She became a judge to grade violets at shows. Virginia cared for Teresa and Gary while Don was away on projects with the Military. She was the person who was asked how to take care of plants when someone could not get theirs to grow. When Carol was born, she became a grandma. Kids that played with Carol as she grew up would ask if she would be their grandma too. Some of those kids have grown up and still call her grandma. In October of 2012, Don and Virginia moved back to Eureka, MT.
Virginia was always there to help anybody that needed her assistance. Family and friends all loved her dearly. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dick Anderson; and son, Robert G. Gibson.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Donald Gibson; daughter, Teresa Gibson; granddaughter, Carol Gibson; and brother, Jim Anderson.
