Verna M Titchbourne

Verna Mae (Wooten) Titchbourne, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, with her family by her side. 

Verna was born on February 18,1938, in Kalispell, MT at the County Hospital, to Vernon L. Wooten and Dorothy B. Giese. 

She joined her sister Barbara Marie (Wooten) Beck.

Verna grew up in Montana and attended the Twin Bridges Orphanage until she was done with school. 

She married the love of her life, James (Jim) Titchbourne on December 15, 1958. They raised three beautiful girls, Roxanne Titchbourne, Joelene Titchbourne, and Sue (Titchbourne) Hume in Eureka, MT. 

Verna worked at the local grocery store while the girls were young. She always loved to camp and help out with all the logging family campouts. One of her favorite things was to camp every summer with her family; she talked about it all winter long. She loved bowling in league with her daughters and friends. “Titch’s Hauling” was their team’s name. She liked to hunt and fish. She made the best dang bread you’ll ever have. Her love of rummage sale shopping was amazing, and she found the best deals around. 

Verna loved to travel south for the winter with her husband Jim by her side. She loved taking rides in their side-by-side. She absolutely loved to gamble with him, her daughter Sue, and friends. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great greats. 

Verna is preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband Jim; daughters Joelene and Sue; and many others. 

She is survived by her sister Barbara; daughter Roxanne; son in law Ron Hume; grandchildren Alex, Damon, Heather (Wayne), Juan, Nathan, Charity (Cody), Phillip, Jarrod (Sarah), Darik (Dani); many great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. 

She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. 

Her celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Praise Church, 79 Bissel Hollow Rd, US Hwy 93 South, Eureka, MT.   A graveside service will follow at the Eureka Cemetery and reception to follow immediately after, back at the church. Flower donations can be sent to the Chapel of Praise for her celebration. Arrangements are under the care of the Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Eureka.
