Susan Marie (Leffelman) Ennenbach, 69, of Eureka, MT formerly of Sublette, IL, passed into eternal life
on July 18, 2024.
Susan was born December 13, 1954, in Mendota, IL to Gerald and Sylvia (Becker) Leffelman.
After graduating Amboy High School in 1972, she went to work at Wayside Press in Mendota, IL. Susan
loved her job and the people she worked with. There she met Jim Ennenbach who she would later
marry in 1976. In 1984 they moved to Montana and started a new life. After dabbling in covered wagon
outings with their team of Clydesdale horses and working at a local ranger station, they divorced in
1996. In 1997, Susan and her partner Ken Renaud opened The Antler Inn Restaurant which they ran
successfully until 2007. After the restaurant was closed Susan transformed that space into the Antler
Inn Emporium selling handmade crafts and items from local artists. Susan was very talented and could
take such mundane items such as a rock, tree branch, feather or scrap of cloth and turn it into
something beautiful, items she would then sell at her gift shop. Susan also served on the Lincoln County
Conservation District Bureau and volunteered at the Eureka Historical Society. Susan wore many
hats in her short but productive life. She made many good friends in all her endeavors and will be
greatly missed. Montana was a blessing to Susan and she called it her “heaven.” She left us to soon, but
will always be remembered for her ever-present positive attitude, kindness to everyone and sharp wit.
She will be missed even more by her family. She is survived by her mother, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Susan spent her final days with her family and enjoying her favorite view of the Montana Mountains.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Schnackenberg Funeral Home. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
