Steven P. Curl
February 4, 1943 ~ September 24, 2023 (age 80) 80 Years Old
Steven Paul Curl, 80, passed away on September 24, 2023, at his home in Troy, MT. He had kidney failure and was on dialysis for the past 5 years. He was born on February 4, 1943, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Frank & Louise (Jennings) Curl. During the course of Steve’s life, he graduated high school, worked as a construction concrete finisher, was a part of the Saddle Club, Pinochle Card Club, was with the Libby Dam as a foreman, and he married Peggy Ann Satterlee on February 10, 1962, in Pipestone, Minnesota.
Steve Curl was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was known and loved by the Libby and Troy Montana communities. He loved horses, fishing, hunting, and had a gift for finding veins of water (dousing) for many, in the Troy and Libby area. Steve never met a stranger, never forgot a face, or a concrete job that he did. He knew and loved the Lord.
Steve is preceded in death by his father Frank Curl; mother Louise Jennings; and stepsister Dixie Gill.
Steve is survived by his wife Peggy Curl of Troy, MT; daughters LaDonna Rae Splittberger ( husband Dale), Dawn Michaelle Mickelson (husband Robin), and Tonya Ann Varca all of Phoenix, Arizona; brother Warner Keith Curl (wife Sharon); sister Wanda Kay Estergard ( husband Mike); grandchildren Jordan Carl Anderson (wife Britteny), Tyler Cole Anderson (wife Kortnie), Chelsea Manon Sanderson (husband Byron), Quinn Ryan Mickelson, Danielle Brooke Mickelson, and Logan Chandler Varca; great grandchildren Ivy Rae Anderson, Olivia Sanderson, and Morgan Sanderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
