Shirley (Fenner) Olson peacefully passed away on December 30th, 2023. She was born January 13th, 1944, to the late Ethel Fenner Anderson and Tex Fenner in Great Falls, Montana. She was the oldest of 10 children. Shirley married Duane Johnson in 1961 and together they had 3 children Joe, Shelley and Renee later divorcing in the early 1970’s. She met and fell in love with Ken Olson and on January 31st, 1975, they got married at Bonners Ferry, Idaho. In 1976, Kenny Lee joined his 3 siblings to make a family of 4 children. Together they made a home in Columbia Falls, Montana for many years until they built a house in Eureka to enjoy retirement. For Shirley, family was everything. She had great pride in all of her “kids”, children, grandkids, great grandkids, her husband and her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing games. Her spaghetti dinners were always a request at family reunion dinners. You would want her to be your partner in pinochle, she was very proud of getting a
double run twice in pinochle. She touched countless lives and will be greatly missed by all of them.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 49 years Ken Olson; children Joe (Peggy) Johnson, Shelley Hiniker, Renee (Rod) Lennick and Kenny (Evi) Olson; and niece Ann (Mike) Hightower who she considered a daughter; grandchildren Mikayla Rylance, Miranda and McKenzy Johnson, John Hiniker, Janet Picacio, Justin and Aaron Lennick and Julie Thrasher; great grandchildren Markuss and Mathias Hiniker, Ryland, Bridger, River and Reese Lennick and Ezekiel and Camilla Thrasher; siblings Chuck (Christine) Fenner, Chad (Brenda) Fenner, Jackie (Bob) Cunningham, Linda Carmichael, Becky Swensgard, Toni Brunner, Char Gollehon; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Tex Fenner and Bill and Ethel Anderson; siblings Billy Anderson and Carol Guilmain; and grandsons Robert Hiniker and Travis Johnson.
