Ricky Peterson
December 22, 1962 – August 28, 2024
Ricky Peterson, a dedicated and compassionate man, passed away peacefully on
August 28th, 2024. Born on December 22nd, 1962, in Montana, Ricky was the beloved
son of Sharron Peterson and the late Kenneth Peterson.
After graduating from high school, Ricky started his career in oil exploration, working in
seismograph reading before moving on to logging in Eureka, Montana. He eventually
found his true calling as a general contractor, earning a reputation for his unwavering
commitment to building custom homes of the highest quality. For Ricky, construction
was not just a job—it was a reflection of his passion for excellence and his dedication to
the people he served. Every home he built embodied his meticulous attention to detail
and his deep care for his clients’ satisfaction.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ricky was a man of great empathy and
generosity. He consistently put others before himself, ensuring that his family, friends,
and even strangers felt valued and cared for. His life was marked by a profound
commitment to his faith; his greatest desire was to live for Jesus and to walk in His
footsteps. Ricky wanted everyone to know the importance of Jesus in his life and the
impact that faith had on him.
Ricky was born and raised in Montana and deeply loved everything the state had to
offer, from hunting and fishing to exploring the great outdoors. He had an adventurous
spirit that he learned from his father, Kenneth, whom he missed dearly. Whether it was a
hunting trip, fishing on a quiet lake, or a simple family outing in the mountains, Ricky
cherished adventuring with his “beautiful bride”, Lisa, and their sons, Tanner, Dillon, and
Jordan. His love for God’s creation was a central part of his life.
Among all the blessings in his life, Ricky’s greatest joy was his grandsons. He loved
Carter, Gavin, Blayne, Wyatt, and Henry more than anything, and they were the light of
his life. Whether he was building with them, playing, or simply spending time together,
Ricky found endless happiness in their laughter and love.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Peterson, and his brothers, Ray
and Rocky Peterson. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 38 years, Lisa
Peterson; his beloved sons, Tanner, Dillon, and Jordan Peterson; and his treasured
grandsons, Carter, Gavin, Blayne, Wyatt, and Henry Peterson, with another little
blessing expected in February. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law, Mandi
Peterson (married to Tanner) and Brianna Peterson (married to Dillon); his dear mother,
Sharron Peterson; and his brother, Randy Peterson.
A service to honor Ricky’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday in the Church of God
Gymnasium with a luncheon to follow. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral
Home of Eureka, MT.
