Raymond Glenn Munts

Raymond Glenn Munts, 77, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at his home in Troy.  He was born November 23, 1945, in Lebanon, OR to Glenn Fowler Munts and Lydia Lena Edmondson.  He attended the Libby Public Schools and graduated from Libby High School in 1965. 

Ray worked for J. Neils Lumber Co., St. Regis, and Champion International/Stimson until they closed their doors.  He then worked for Ward Crushing and the Troy mine.  He also did some blacksmithing.  Ray had had a knack for a ‘play on words’ and had a great sense of humor.  He was an avid reader and had a love of history, geology, and for the mountains.  He loved running a crusher and loader and he enjoyed finding awesome rocks.

Survivors include his wife Margie Owen Munts of Troy; children Stephanie Munts of Libby, Logan Munts (Jessica) of Troy, Shannon Place (Chad) of Troy, and Shane Corbett (Jill) of OK; grandchildren Trevor Munts, Tyler Munts, Sara Shadden, Nathan Shadden, Brooke Place, Cadence Corbett, and Declan Corbett; and many friends and extended family.  The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.  Arrangements were under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
