Patricia Joyce Stewart, 86, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Whitefish Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Patricia (Patty) Burch was born March 6, 1937, in Rexford, Montana, to Thomas and Lucille Burch. She had many fond memories of growing up in Eureka, Montana, with her many siblings and friends.
When the train arrived in Eureka with the soldiers of the Korean War, she caught the eye of Walter (Walt) J Chalcraft. They married July 18, 1952, they went on to have five children: Arlene, Gary, Ron, Janice, and Rosella.
Patricia devoted her life to her family, a kind and loving mother and grandmother with numerous grandchildren that were the light of her life.
In 2003, Walt passed away after just over 50 years of marriage.
She later married Sherman Stewart on September 21, 2013. Sherman also precedes her in death, passing in 2018.
In 2019, she returned home to Eureka.
Patricia is a member of the LDS Church and devoted her time and energy to Temple work and family history research.
Also preceding her in death are her parents; her children Arlene and Gary; her siblings Jean, Helen, Thomas, Gerry, Rosella, Thelma, and Carol; and two grandchildren Mark and Hailey.
Patricia is survived by children Ron Chalcraft of Oregon, Janice Rogers, and Rose Windish of Eureka; sister Beatrice Helton of North Carolina; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery in Eureka, MT. Arrangements are under the care of the Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Eureka. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
