Nancy Joyce Bachteler, 78, passed away on November 25, 2024, peacefully at her home with family by her side. She was born March 1, 1946, in Tacoma, WA, to Fred and Betty (Tweed) Hampton. Nancy married Thomas James Bachteler on December 16, 1961, in Las Vegas, NV. They had four children Natalie, Lisa, Bret, and Darreld.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Bachteler; parents Fred and Betty (Tweed) Hampton; son Bret Bachteler; brothers Lorne Bachteler, Chuck Hampton, and Rob Hampton; and sister Lorraine Hunnicutt Bachteler. She is survived by her children Natalie Dabel, Lisa Laycock, and Darreld Bachteler; sisters Wendy Byers, LeAnne Bogan, and Marcie Bachteler; sixteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. 
A memorial service was held on December 3, 2024, at Schnackenberg Funeral Home Chapel of Libby. Following the service Nancy was laid to rest next to her husband, Thomas Bachteler, at the City of Libby Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby, MT.
