Marritta Kay Welch

Marritta “Kay” Welch, 83, passed away on February 19, 2024. Kay was born June 23, 1940 in Bowie, Texas to Dallas and Jesse Swilling. She married Charles R. Welch, Sr. On June 5, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland while Charles was stationed at Bainbridge Maryland Naval Base. She worked retail and was a waitress at various jobs while her husband traveled around with the Navy.

Kay is survived by her loving husband, Charles R. Welch, Sr.; her children Charles R. Welch, Jr. and wife Gretchen of Libby, Montana, Dennis L. Welch and wife Sandy of Granbury, Texas, Thomas E. Welch and wife Deann of Libby, Montana; her 5 grandchildren Jason, Jeremy, Tiffany, Amber, Courtney, and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her sister Judy Lloyd and brother Ken Swilling.

There will be a graveside memorial services at 1 p.m. on February 26, 2024, at the City of Libby Cemetery; 1004 Treasure Ave; Libby, Montana. Visitation will be held at the Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby; 422 West 2nd Street, on February 26, 2024 from 9 a.m. to noon before the graveside memorial service.  The arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby.
