Marie Leona Halvorson

Marie Leona Halvorson, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Mountain View Manor of Cascadia in Eureka, MT.  She was born July 20, 1933, to Earl and Inga Wood in Conrad, MT. Marie spent most of her childhood going to school in Conrad with a couple of early years in Washington schools.
When Marie was 19 years old, she was crowned the 1952 Whoop-Up Queen of Conrad, MT. She rode in the parade in Conrad and traveled to Calgary, Alberta and rode in the Calgary Stampede parade, representing Conrad, MT in that parade. It was a great honor.
In 1953, Marie married Vernon Halvorson. They bought a farm in the Kevin area and raised 3 children for 30 years. Marie also worked at Glacier Bank in Cut Bank, MT and Torgeson Implement in Ethridge. Marie moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she worked as a paralegal before working for American Express, retiring from American Express. In 2017, Marie moved to Eureka, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Inga Wood; brother, Bob Wood; ex-husband, Vernon Halvorson; nephew, Wayne Aldinger; and brother-in-law, Harold Aldinger.
Survivors include her 3 children, Debbie Halvorson of Great Falls, Cheryl White (Larry) of Eureka, and Curt Halvorson (Terri) of Cut Bank; sister, Darlene Aldinger; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marie loved her family very much and enjoyed watching them grow.
