Margaret Caroline Teigen, 85, passed away on September 23, 2024. She was born on June 15, 1939, to Elza and Golda (Athens) Rider in Chinook Montana. Her family moved to Ronan Montana where she met and married William 0 Teigen (Bill). They were married in Poison Montana on June 2, 1956, and moved to Libby in 1958. Here they settled and raised three daughters.
As a young girl, Marge learned the love of riding horses and finding all the local fishing holes hoping to hook some brookies. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, embroidery, ceramics, crafts, reading and working puzzles. And very much enjoyed her years in a women's bowling league and also all the games of Yahtzee with her best friend and neighbors.
As her girls got older, she applied and got hired as a seasonal employee for the Forest Service in the Troy and Libby districts. Her love of the outdoors was her favorite part of all the years of hard work that went into planting and wrapping the thousands of trees that she handled.
Often her family would ask "Grandma Marge" for their very favorites, her deviled eggs and her very detailed holiday sugar cookies.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband Bill Teigen, parents Elza and Golda Rider, sisters Ruby Dalke, Ruth Parrish, Jean Turner.
Survivors include her daughters Barb Brossman (Ray), Libby; Cindy Teigen, Libby; Debbie Stewart (Steve Malin), Gladstone Oregon; brother Robert Rider (Nancy), Ronan; sisters-in-law Patricia Burnell, Rita Snyder, Dorothy Teigen; 8 Grandchildren, Katrina Dykstra of Meridian Idaho, Tracy Wolgamott of Libby, Matthew Brossman (Erin) of Lolo Montana, Dustin Teigen of Helena Montana, Tera Taylor, Nathan Stewart, Zach Stewart all of Oregon; 9 Great-Grandchildren, Braden, Jill/an, Raegan, Riley, Carson, Caleb, Mason, Hayes, Cadence; numerous nieces and nephews; And her very dear and close friend, Les.
There will be a memorial planned for Spring of 2025. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
