Marcia L. (Smith) Brickey Rasmussen

Marcia Lynn Smith Brickey Rasmussen, 66, died on October 14, 2023.  She was born on May 14, 1957, in Green County, Pennsylvania, to Ralph Elden Smith and Rachel Wilma Franks.  Marcia came west at a very young age.  Her father was in the Corp of Engineers and came to Libby to work on the Libby Dam project.  Marcia graduated from Libby high school in 1975, after which, she spent some time in Sydney, MT, working for Hanson Enterprise managing different properties.  She returned to Libby in 1982, to take care of her father who had developed cancer.  She opened Marcia’s Restaurant and fed the people of Libby for 28 years. I have it from a very good source it was the best food in town.

Macia is survived by her husband Don Rasmussen of Libby; son Stu Brickey and his girlfriend Krystel Kellogg of Kalispell, MT, along with their children Seth and Ava; daughter Brooklyn Brickey of Stevensville, MT; sister Linda Uithof (Rob) of Libby; niece Tessa Knapp (Jesse) of Libby, and their children Blake and Brylee and niece Nyna Cummings (Jack) of Houston, TX and their children Trace, Madison and Wyatt; nephew Don Blankenburg (Wendy) of Los Angelos, CA, and nephew Eric Uithof (Lacey) and their children Jaxon and Rylin of Libby; brother David Smith (Carrie) of Seattle, WA; and the apple of her eye, her granddaughter Willow Rauser of Crystal Springs, TX.

Services for Marcia will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby.  Memories and condolences may be shared online by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
