**Obituary for John Hamilton Leib Sr.**
John Hamilton Leib Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the age of 89, after a short stay in the hospital in Kalispell, Montana. He was born on September 9, 1935, in Whitefish, Montana, to Hamilton and Olive Leib. John lived a full and vibrant life, dedicating himself to his family, his work, and his passions.
A proud Navy veteran, John served his country during the Korean War, instilling a sense of duty and honor that he carried with him throughout his life. After returning from military service, he embarked on a diverse career, working as a ranch hand, electrician, and truck driver. Each role reflected his strong work ethic and determination to provide for his family.
John had a profound love for animals, especially horses and dogs. This connection to the natural world brought him immense joy and was a testament to his spirit. He often found solace in the company of his four-legged friends, and many cherished memories were made alongside them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hamilton and Olive Leib, as well as 2 nephews, three brothers-in-law, his oldest son John Jr. and brother David Leib.
John is survived by his devoted wife, Robin, after a 65-year partnership, and his loving sister, Laura Johnson. He was a proud father to his children, Robin Brown and her husband Mervin, Halleluiah Parks and her husband Mike, Hadassah Leib, Joshua Leib and his wife Isia, Joel Busted and her husband Chad, Micaiah Leib (Robert), his youngest son, Benjamin Leib and a daughter-in-law, Delia Leib. His legacy lives on through his 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory in their hearts.
John was also blessed with two nieces and five nephews, each of whom he cherished.
He was a man of integrity, who taught his family the values of hard work, devotion, and love. His laughter and his stories of adventure and life lessons will forever echo in our hearts.
As we say farewell to John Hamilton Leib Sr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who exemplified love and strength. His spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, and he will be missed dearly by all.
A memorial service will be held to honor John (Date To Be Anounced). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a local animal shelter, honoring John’s love for all creatures great and small.
