JOHN "JACK" WORKMAN Obituary

John Allen “Jack” Workman, 82, was born on Pinkham Creek on October 24, 1938. He passed away peacefully at Mountain View Manor on September 20, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Jack was educated in the Pinkham Creek School, Eureka Elementary, and Lincoln County High School where he met the love of his life, Carol Graves. They were married soon after graduation and enjoyed 61 years together. Jack and Carol explored their career options outside of Montana before returning to Eureka to raise their family, where Jack resumed his career as a logger. During spring break-up, Jack and Carol took time to explore the western US. He was a quiet man of faith who knew his savior, and a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. After retirement, Jack loved spending time in the woods with his family, dog (Taz), and on his own. He enjoyed working to restore his Model T. He was a mentor to many, and an example to more. He was a gentle soul who will be dearly missed.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father Alta and Charles; brothers Wayne, Lynn, Sid, Chuck, Roger; and sister Elajean.

He is survived by his brother Harry; sister Lula; sister-in-law Peggy, wife Carol; children Ken (Jody), Valorie (Ken); grandchildren Zach, Sarah, Megan (Steven); and great grandchildren William, Thomas, and Mason.

Graveside services were held in Eureka. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (www.michaeljfox.org/donate). Arrangements are by Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Eureka.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
