Jesse David Waters was born Jan. 10, 1937 in Sidney, MT, to Jesse and Pearl Waters on a cold winter day. They lived in several places ad he gained three brothers, John Thomas, Joel Robert, and Walter Michael; and three sisters, Janice, Leona, and Eva Jean. As a family they moved to Trego in 1952. Jesse was then a freshman at Lincoln County High School.
Jesse married Joann Farley on Aug. 30, 1957, and they completed 63 years of married life and raised four great and successful sons: Daniel, John, David, and Phillip. Jesse worked in the sawmills since his teens and became an excellent sawyer. He completed his education and became an ordained pastor in 1980 and starting a church in Hungry Horse after having a stroke. Jesse recovered enough to continue the church work but not the mill work.
Jesse served churches for 21 years in Montana, Missouri, and Arkansas. He retired in 2001 and returned to his property in Fortine where he went to be with Jesus after a bout of pneumonia, after having the Covid virus.
Services are planned for 11 a.m. Dec. 31, at Fortine Community Church; with viewing at 10 a.m.
