JAMES M DALE

James M. Dale, 91, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Mountain View Manor.  He was born in Great Falls, MT on March 8, 1928.  He grew up on the farm in Fairfield and later in Choteau where he graduated from high school in 1945.

James met the love of his life, Ida, another Montana native, in Seattle while he was active in the US National Guard. They were married in 1952 and had 2 sons, John and James.  Jim and Ida both had careers in Seattle, he as a surveyor and she as a nurse for Boeing.  They restored their connection to Montana in 1967 when they bought vacation property on Glen Lake.  Jim always dreamed about living in Montana again and achieved that dream in 1990 when they retired full time on the lake among many friends and relatives. He enjoyed 25 years living on the lake and counted every year a blessing.  He enjoyed hunting and shooting, trips to Glacier Park and Therriault Lakes, and trips to Washington to visit his kids and grandkids.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Ida and son James. 

Survivors include his son John, daughters-in-law Lindsay and Polly, 4 grandkids and 5 great grandkids.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Eureka.  Arrangements are by Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Eureka.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
