JACK OWEN Obituary

Jack A. Owen, 87, Morgan horseman extraordinaire, died on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at this home in Eureka of natural causes.  He was born Dec. 11, 1933 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Harry and Reba Owen.  He lived most of his life on a farm and loved animals and the farm lifestyle. He developed a love for horses at an early age from his father.

Jack wed Charlotte Crowell in 1957 and then did a 2 year tour with the US Army in Germany.  After Jack was honorably discharged his son Lonny was born in 1962. Jack and Charlotte had a tremendous love for the Morgan Horse and spent many years perfecting their breeding program and showed horses all over.  Morgan Horses would remain with Jack until his last year. He passed his love and knowledge of Morgans onto his son and family who still own Morgans to this day.

Jack and Charlotte divorced and lead separate lives.  In 2007, he married Linda Nissen and continued showing and loving the Morgan breed. In 2008, they followed Lonny to Eureka and resided there until his passing.  They got to spend many fun times together and made multiple trips into the mountains on their beloved Morgan horses.  Wonderful memories of their Montana time will be cherished forever.

Jack loved his family, his horses and friends.  He always had a big smile and a mischievous sparkle in his eyes.  He will be missed by all of his family, but they know they will be with him one day in Glory!  Until that day, they will love him and miss him, and be forever grateful for the things he taught them.

Survivors include his wife Linda Owen; son Lonny A. (Tammy) Owen; and grandsons Justin Owen and family; Allen (Cheyenne) Owen.
