Longtime Libby nurse and Montana resident Hazel Scott, 96, passed away last week peaceably at her home in Libby surrounded by her family. Hazel will be remembered as a lively spirit who enjoyed singing and dancing, gardening and was an avid baker. Her life adventures took her through the Depression years to the modern era for most of the last century in Montana and to Libby where she provided caring home nursing support to many Libby residents who became her friends
For each child who lives life, there’re parents who gave them the initial training and the foundation of the important things, what’s right and wrong, sense of self and a standard of what’s most important in the world. Mom always said she never changed a tire in her life. Had plenty of flats, but someone would always step in. Her car plates reflected her outlook on life “OYESICAN” and later, “CITOLJA”.
For that, everything that we are today came from the lessons and tools we learned as a child growing up in Montana, with Montana standards and Hazel as our mother. For that we thank our Mom Hazel deeply for all that we are and were blessed to have had “Gramma Hazel” in our lives. She will be remembered……
