Harry Donal Brock, 73, died July 30, 2024, at home with his wife in his arms. He won his battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, it may have taken his earthly life. However, he opened his eyes and gazed upon his Lord Jesus and enters eternity with the saints. He always said it was a win-win, it was either staying here with Bobbie or being with Jesus.
Harry was born on September 18, 1950, to Donal and Naomi Brock in Eureka. He was raised on the family ranch on the West Kootenai. After graduation from Lincoln County High School in 1968, Harry was a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp and served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970.
Harry was a sawyer for several local logging companies; he operated heavy equipment running bulldozers and excavators. He was also a much sought after fabrication welder. Construction jobs took him to 17 different states from Kentucky to Alaska. After a move to Nevada, Harry worked for and retired as a Captain in Nevada Division of Forestry, Wildland Fire Fighting Division. In 1994, he was chosen as firefighter of the year, after supervising crews on 16 wildland fires. Harry was an avid outdoors man. He loved fishing, hunting, hiking and just riding looking over the country.
In his retirement, Harry and Bobbie traveled and explored the Western United States for 2 ½ years before settling back in Eureka. There they raised their grandson, Dylan. This was a wonderful, fun time for the family. If you were lucky enough to receive a gift of one of Harry’s custom knives or carvings, you were very lucky indeed. Harry was a man of integrity, loyal to his God, country, family and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy and Clara Brock and Harry and Esther Brewer; his parents, Donal and Naomi; and nephews, Don and Wesley Croucher.
He was survived by his wife Bobbie; children Shane (Cami) Brock, Michelle Tuttle, Heidi (Dennis) Bunch and Shad Malloy; sister Chris (Ed) Croucher; and nephew Scott (Pam) Croucher; ten grandchildren: Mallory (Chris) Jimenez, Tanya (Brian) Lockman, Nick, Dylan, Samantha and Alessandra Tuttle, Brent (Annabelle) Brock and Emily, Henry Brock and Aiden Malloy; four great grandchildren: Ashlyn and Kinslyn Jimenez, Esben Lockman and Thomas Brock.
Graveside Military Services will be Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at Tobacco Valley Cemetery, followed by a fellowship lunch at First Baptist Church in Eureka.
