Grace Ann (Bunny), passed away Dec 13th at home in her sleep.
She was born Dec 12, 1942, in Onamia, MN to Grace and Carl Siebenaler. She graduated from Onamia High School in 1958. Bunny met and married Stephen Franklin in 1961. In Feb. 1962 they moved to California. She raised 3 children Sean, Shannon and Colleen. In 1987 they moved to Eureka, MT.
While in California Bunny worked caring for seniors and was director of in home supportive services for years. She obtained her Master Food Preservation certificate from UC Davis. This certificate led to Bunny’s Country Kitchen, the 1st certified commercial at home kitchen in Eureka, MT. If you haven’t been a recipient of her cinnamon rolls or sticky buns, you’ve been missing out. A longtime member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for many years and she baked hundreds of crème pies for the Lincon County Fair. She also donated her baked goods for any and every benefit or auction.
Bunny was also an avid quilter and spear headed the QUILTS FOR HEROS for PTSD Veterans Hospital in Montana.
She is preceded in death by her husband Stephen Franklin, son Sean Franklin, nephew Ronald Weltzin and niece Pamela Lukecart.
She is survived by her 2 sisters Rita Schneider (John) and Joanne Lukecart, daughters Shannon Franklin and colleen Cody (Craig), daughter in law Sonja Franklin, grandchildren Christine Collins, Matthew Franklin, Autumn Benson (Derek), Karl Hellwig (Elizabeth), Christina Peltier, James Cody, John Cody, Kyle Peltier, great grandkids Riley Benson, Parker Franklin, Dawson and Walker Cody.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2024 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Eureka. Memorial donations may be made to the Tobacco Valley Animal Shelter; PO Box 1815, Eureka, MT 59917. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Eureka.
