Gerlinde “Linda” Johnson Obituary

Linda Johnson (82) passed away on June 26, 2026, at home. She was born on August 3,1943 in Nuremberg, Germany to Johann and Elise Lehner. She married Gareth Johnson on December 8,1964 and they moved to the U.S. in 1966. She became a U.S. citizen in 1979 and was proud to be a resident of Libby. 

She loved finding garage sale bargains, beating anyone at aggravation, and spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids. She also loved cooking, baking and sharing food with family and friends, especially her German recipes and famous cheesecake.

Linda is survived and dearly missed by her 5 children Ralf (Vanessa) Johnson, Jackie (Brent) Barron, Jimmy Johnson, Angie (John) McDunn, and Viola (David) Risdon; 13 grandchildren Jessica (Dustin), Kyle (Alicia), Erin (Derek), Nick (Reggie), Justin (Becky), Amanda (Brian), Duncan (Brianna), Ben, Bailey, Kitiri, Shannara, Shelby, and Nathan; and 8 great grandchildren Emmah, Braydun, Ariah, Brylee, Jamie, Gareth, Cody, Jake, Kyle, and Theo. As well as her niece Debbie and brother Erwin and numerous nieces & nephews in Germany.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gareth and her 14 siblings.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Libby VFW on July 18, 2026, at noon. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg and Riddle Funeral Home of Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
