GAITHER COLLIS WALKER

Gaither Collis Walker, 94, a longtime resident of the Tobacco Valley, was called home to Jesus May 16, 2022 at Logan Health in Whitefish.  He was born in Lenoir, North Carolina on August 25, 1927 to Gaither and Alice Walker.  He was one of 16 children and was also a twin to his brother Wallace Walker.  He was the last living sibling.  Collis was a Veteran of United States Navy, W.W. II, Sea Bees division.

                Collis was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, all of him whom will miss him very much.  Preceding him in death are his wife Esther, 15 siblings, son-in-law Darrell, and Grandson Corey. 

Surviving him are his son Dallas; daughters Alice Pitman (Rodger) and Della Cash (Duane); grandchildren Derick Pitman, Mistee Verhulp (Ryan), Bo Pitman (Maria), Regan Lewis (Bill), Colby Cash (Patty), and Seth Cash (Sierra); great grandchildren Trace, RyAnn, Jacey, Austin, Michael, Sasha, Merec, Jaeger, Ridger, and Riverlynn. 

 Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2022 at Tobacco Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Eureka.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
