Francis Donald Landis

Francis Donald Landis, 81, of Libby, MT died Thursday, November 9, 2023, of heart failure at Cabinet Peaks Hospital in Libby. He was born October 27, 1942, at Dickenson, ND to Charles and Florence Landis. He was raised in Wolf Point, MT and served in the United States Marine Corps and then spent a few years working at Yellowtail Dam at Hardin, MT and Boundary Dam in Washington state.  Francis (Don) moved to Libby in 1966 and married Rebecca Nedens on May 20, 1967.  He worked at W.R. Grace until 1991 and then worked a few years for Charles Berget as a well driller.

Francis (Don) was preceded in death by his mother Florence Landis-Sand; his sister Diana Landis-Allen; and his wife Karen Hermsmeyer-Landis. 

Don is survived by his son Donald Todd Landis and his wife Heather Ferring Landis; grandchildren Zachary, Austin, and Jocelyn Rebecca; 2 step sons whom he raised Richard Hermsmeyer and Troy Hermsmeyer of Libby; brother-in-law James Allen; and many nephews and nieces.  Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby, MT.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
