Dorothy Newton Obituary

Dorothy Peltier Newton was born on October 2, 1945, in Eureka, MT to Victor and Marie Peltier. She was one of nine children. She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 12, 2026, in Eureka, MT, where she was a lifelong resident.

Dorothy graduated high school in 1963 and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Newton, on December 28, 1963. Together they shared sixty-two wonderful years. They had four children, thirteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was known for her devotion to family and friends - a caregiver to all. She loved gardening and baking - especially pies. She was a devout Catholic and coordinated many funeral luncheons. She was a bookkeeper for Newton Logging for fifty years and maintained an immaculate home and garden. Her home will always be remembered as a gathering place. She was a beautiful seamstress and crocheted lovely baby blankets.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband Charles Newton of Eureka; daughter Linda Felde (Mike) of Kalispell and their children Rebecca and Cory; son Mike Newton (Nettie) of Eureka and their children Justin, Jodi, Tasha, and Kendra; daughter Ann Marie Livingston (Mark) of Eureka and their children Jordan, Duncan, and Emily; daughter Christy Lytle (Chris) of Eureka and their children Jake, Rogan, Maren, and Evie; brothers Victor Peltier (Betty), and Joe Peltier (Teresa), and sister Rita Frank (Henry), as well as fifteen great-grandchildren, and many friends, and relatives. She also leaves behind her furry friends Rhett and Beau.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Marie Peltier; brothers Tim Peltier and John Peltier; sisters Faye Stoken, Carol Robbins, and Mary Peltier.
