Donna G (Gompf) Sather

Donna Sather, 91, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, in Helena, Montana. Born and raised in Libby, MT, Donna spent the majority of her life in the community she cherished.
In 1954, Donna married Roy (Sam) Sather in Libby, Montana. Together, they shared 59 years of love and companionship until his passing on March 13, 2014.

Donna dedicated many years of service to the Libby School District and was an active volunteer at the Heritage Museum and local food bank. Her generosity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others impacted many lives.

She is survived by her four children—Yvonne Hencley (Frank Hencley), Kevin Sather (Mary Sather), Debra Sather (Rachelle Campbell), and Greg Gabbard (Suzanna Gabbard)—along with 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Donna was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and devotion will forever be cherished.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Loren Gompf; two brothers, Keith and Gary; and her sister, Jackey.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at Schnackenberg Funeral Home, 422 W 2nd street, Libby, Mt. 59923. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to the Methodist Church in Libby.

May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
