Delbert Owen Headings

Delbert Owen Headings, 63, of Eureka, MT passed away on November 8, 2023, after a valiant battle with Melanoma. Delbert was born January 28, 1960, to Kenneth and Elva Headings in Eugene Oregon. Delbert grew up on dairy farms and ranches. His happiest times may have been in the saddle driving cattle in the mountains of Colorado and in later years Montana. Besides his love for horses, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping and the world of nature around him. When health issues hindered him from active work, he began The Feed Bin. This became a place to pass on to others his knowledge and expertise. The Feed Bin was also the place he touched people’s hearts and always lent a listening ear. Anyone who knew Delbert knew him as the man who truly lived what he believed. Delbert’s quiet steady confidence in God was the foundation of his life and touched all that knew him. Delbert was predeceased by his mother, Elva, his father, Kenneth, and his sister Shirley. He is survived by his wife, Loretta, son Jon and grandson Rilo; daughter Anastasia, (Johnny Flores) and two grandsons: Alexander, and Kaleb. Also surviving are five siblings: Elida Byler, Darlene Byler, Doris Kauffman, Nancy Troyer, and Darold Headings, also nieces and nephews. Every person who has known Delbert has their own memories to treasure and carry with them.

Services for Delbert are 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Chapel of Praise in Eureka. Visitation is 1-5 p.m., Sunday, November 12, at Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Eureka.
