Deborah Jean Eckman Wagner passed away suddenly on August 1, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born February 23, 1948, to Jean Jackson and Edward Eckman in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated McKeesport High with the class of 1966 and received her Bachelor’s degree at Eastern Washington University.
Deborah married David Wagner in 1987, in Deer Park, Washington. They settled in Eureka, Montana, in 2004, to be closer to family.
Deborah was an artist, a quilter and a nature lover. You could catch her out painting in nature or in her favorite quilting shops finding just the right fabric for her next project, or in her sewing room making the most beautiful quilts.
She was an active member of the Eureka Seventh Day Adventist Church and lived her life for the Lord. Most may know her by her parting greeting, ‘Have a good day in the Lord’. She was a member of the scraps n threads quilt guild, and she spent some time as a part of the local toastmasters. She loved to compete in pinup pageants with her daughter, Brenda, and won several titles over the years. She was an advocate and a friend to all those that she could help in some way, and she enjoyed helping wherever she could. Her smile and good cheer could brighten anyone’s day and will certainly be missed by all.
She is survived by her husband David Wagner; her daughter Brenda Cavoretto, and her husband Dave Cavoretto; her daughter Laura Lanning and her husband Roger Lanning; her grandchildren Jacob Blackmer, Austin Cavoretto, Serena Foozer, Lorelai Lanning; great granddaughter Olivia Blackmer; and so many wonderful friends she considered her family.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7th 2024, at the Eureka Seventh Day Adventist Church, 460 Airport Road, Eureka, Montana, with light refreshments to follow. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Eureka. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
A memorial account has been set up at First Interstate Bank in Eureka, Montana, under Wagner3921 or Zelle to inmemorydw@gmail.com
