David Lee Kieffer, aged 85, of Libby, MT, passed away peacefully at home on June 20th, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on February 24th, 1939 in Stevensville, MT to Casey and Roxy Kieffer.
Dave was Hazel’s devoted husband for 56 years and a loving father to his children Pam, Steve, Heidi, and the late Terri and Brian. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Wanda. He had seven grandchildren; Sara, David, Sean, Dan, Rachel, Katerina and Aidan and 8 great grandchildren.
He was a long-time owner of the Libby Credit Bureau and was active in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, the Elks and was in the Missoula Jaycees. He also served as the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Lincoln County.
Known for his quick wit and generous spirit, Dave had a knack for making people feel better and was always open and gregarious. He was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church, serving as the treasurer for many years. He believed that love was the most important thing in the world.
He was an irreplaceable part of his family’s lives and will be deeply missed by friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
A service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on July 10th at 3 pm to celebrate David's life and legacy. Donations in his memory can be made to Christ Lutheran or to the Shriner’s Hospital in Spokane, WA. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby, MT.
