Brenda Blizzard Obituary

Brenda Lee Blizzard, 66, passed away on July 3, 2024, at Loon Lake, WA. She was born on September 25, 1957, at Whitefish, MT, to Harvey Hanson and Audrey (Hanson) Howe.

Brenda loved to travel. She backpacked through Scandinavia and Europe then joined the Army, going to Germany as a pneudraulics mechanic. After that tour, she returned to the U.S. to work for an Engineering firm before a journey to Australia and New Zealand, visiting backpacking friends she met in Europe. Returning home, she became a computer tech, installing hardware systems and troubleshooting software for many Northwest businesses, including Fairchild AFB, where she joined the Air National Guard.

On a temporary duty deployment, she met her first husband Col. Marv Graham in Florida. After their Florida tour they were sent to Fairchild for a tour of duty before redeploying to Cairo, Egypt. After Marv unexpectedly passed, Brenda returned to Spokane, staying active in the Officer’s Spouses Club at Fairchild, getting her associate’s degree and meeting her new husband, Roger.

Together, Brenda and Roger took several cruises, with friends, road trips around the U.S., visiting friends and family along the way, with overseas trips to Norway, Sweden and Ireland, again to visit friends and family.  Brenda loved being outdoors, hiking, swimming, boating, skiing, watching wildlife and just chatting with everyone she met. She had lots of love, compassion and empathy for everyone. Her positive nature was infectious.

Brenda is survived by her husband Roger, mother Audrey Howe, brother Gary Hanson, Roger (Arletta) Presnell, Richard Presnell, Joani (Denny) Young, Judy Klein, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins around the world. A special thank you to Spokane Providence Sacred Heart gynecological oncology and infusion staff for taking much loving care of Brenda the past five years.

Services will be held on July 26, 2024, 1:00 p.m., at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Eureka, MT. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Eureka, MT. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
