Aaron Garrett Lynam
Aaron Garrett Lynam, 52, of Fortine, MT, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025. He was born June 21, 1972, in San Francisco, CA, to Gary and Maureen (Nichols) Lynam. He graduated from Bear River High School in Grass Valley, CA in 1990. Aaron served in the United States Marine Corp from 1990 to 1994.
Aaron married Michelle Hartline on July 24, 1992, in San Clemente, CA. Following his military service, he worked as an HEP mechanic for the California Department of Water Resources. Aaron retired in 2024, and they were in the process of relocating to Montana.
Aaron devoted himself to helping others. He was a member of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Search & Rescue, Bakersfield Team, for 21 years. He served as Captain of the Bakersfield Search & Rescue and received too many awards and honors to list. He was also a member of the IUOE Bargaining Unit 12 for the State of California.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle Lynam; adoptive parents, Jim and Kelly Hoover of Beaman, IA; children Tyler Lynam (Sara) of Bakersfield, CA, Naomi Lantz (Robert) of Lemoore, CA, Gwen Lynam of Kalispell, MT, and Nolan Lynam (Natalie) of Kalispell, MT; grandson, Michael Lantz; and sister, Venicia Brown (Johnny).
