RICHARD LEE Obituary

Richard Duane Lee

Richard Duane Lee, 71, of the Yaak went home to his Lord and Savior on December 8, 2018 after a lengthy Illness. He was born to Ruth Dickerson Lee and Rollie Meredith Lee in Des Moines, IA. He attended East High in Des Moines and after graduation joined the Marines. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Richard worked for the USPS, retired, and moved to Yaak, MT, a place he called Paradise. He loved the outdoors and living in his log cabin with his loyal dog, Gus. Together they made many wonderful friends there. All who knew him know he was a daredevil, loved fast cars, faster motorcycles, and sports. He enjoyed life to the fullest and possessed a contagious laugh. Richard was a kind, loving man of strong Christian faith. He loved his country and family. Heaven is fortunate to have him now.

He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandparents, Ruth and Ray Dickerson who raised Richard after the death of our mother.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Jr. and Joshua (Martin), and daughter Stefanie Lee; his grandchildren, Brian; twins Owen and Tatum Lee; Alexis Newton, and Alexandra Newton; 4 siblings, Dianne (Thomas) Kline; Rollie (Janet) Lee; Steven (Cindy) Lee, and Larry (Teri) Lee; 7 nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.

Our family thanks Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA for their loving care of Richard. We would like to thank Richard’s former wife and our friend, Karmen Lawrence, for her help with the arrangements. Also, thank you to the fine people of the Yaak for their friendship, care, and support of our brother. He loved you all. We shall all deeply and forever miss him.
