            Michelle Therese Carpenter, 74, of Eureka, MT passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Brendan House in Kalispell of natural causes.  Michelle Therese Andrews was born March 27, 1943 in Lubbock, TX.  Her mother died when she was just 4 years old and she spent a year in foster homes.  Her older sister, Margaret, found out and took her to her home where she and her husband, Hal Shultz, raised her through her school years.  She graduated High School from Long Beach, CA in 1961.

            Michelle spent her life working in the financial world and volunteering in the nursing home in Eureka for the past 20 years.  In 2016, she was awarded “Volunteer of the Year”.  She was also very involved in the church helping with blood drives, Rosary rallies, and social functions.  Michelle loved to give of her time in the things she was passionate about.  She also enjoyed cross country skiing and loved to travel to visit family and friends.  On June 30, 1995, Michelle married ‘Teddybear’.  They enjoyed 27 happy years of marriage.

            Survivors include her husband, Ted, of Eureka; children Jim Denning and wife, Robin; Jill Denning Macklaskey and husband, Dave; Jeff Denning; Janie Denning Carpenter; Joel Denning; stepchildren Gary Carpenter; five grandchildren Jordan, Owen, Sierra, Abby and Skyler; and brothers, David Shultz and Micky McCormick.

            Services for Michelle will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2017 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Eureka, MT.  Rosary will be 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2017.  Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home of Eureka, MT.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
