LARRY LARSON Obituary

Larry Dwayne Larson, 69, passed away November 20, 2019 at North Idaho Hospice in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.  He was born August 26, 1950 in Libby, Montana to Chester and Verna Larson.

 

Larry joined the US Navy in 1970 after graduating from high school in Libby and served on USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam conflict and received an honorable discharge in 1972. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

 

He went to work at St. Regis Lumber Company after being discharged from the Navy.  He worked in the sawmill,  then transferred into the woods department for a time and eventually came back into the mill to work in the stud mill, plywood and then finger joint plant where he stayed until he retired in 2008.  He attended heavy equipment school and worked at a log yard after his retirement from the mill.

 

His hobbies included fishing, camping, hiking and photography and he loved riding his motorcycle.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his grandparents Elmer and Clara Clough, and Victor and Elizabeth Larson and a brother-in-law Don Jones.

 

He is survived by his sister Loretta Larson Jones and a brother Dave (Sandi) Larson, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

 

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 at Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
