Jerry D. Heyman, 83, passed away Tuesday, Oct.17th, 2017 at Kalispell Regional Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Nov.13th, 1933 to Ernie and June Heyman. He was raised in Chicago, Illinois where he attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, and later criminalistics and law enforcement.

Jerry enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1956 and was honorably discharged in Sept of 1960. He then went on to work for Hazel Crest Illinois Police Dept. and AFT Securities, retiring in 1996. Jerry moved to Eureka, MT upon retirement as he loved Montana visits with family as a young boy.

Jerry has spent his retirement years acquiring yard sale and auction treasures, playing cards, bingo, and shooting.

Jerry was a proud patron lifetime member of the NRA for over 50 years. He loved firearms and animals, especially his beloved dogs. Throughout Jerry's lifetime he had earned numerous marksmanship and law enforcement commendations.

"Uncle Jerry", as he was affectionately known is survived by Shawn, Carrie, Nikoda and Savana Vandeberg and Pat Mahler, all of Eureka, MT; Brady, Melissa, Mikayla and Zach Vandeberg of Wyoming; DeAnne (Arlen) Larson and Joy Nesseth of Port Orchard, WA; and numerous cousins, and his beloved dog, "River".

Military Graveside Service will be held at 12 o'clock noon at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery, Sat, .Oct.28th, 2017. Viewing will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at Schnackenberg and Nelson Funeral Home in Eureka.  In lieu of flowers/ memorial donations in Jerry's memory may be sent to Tobacco Valley Animal Shelter.  Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Eureka.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
