Douglas R. Kelley, 64, of Libby, MT passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center of natural causes.  He was born August 25, 1953 in Vancouver, Washington to Arnold Eugene and Vela (Adams) Kelley.  He grew up in the Libby area and attended school at Libby High School.  Doug entered the United States Army in 1971 and served his country for 3 years, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1974.  On April 17, 1976, he married Marilyn I. Griggs in Sandpoint, ID.  Doug worked at W. R. Grace and then owned and operated D.K.  Ing Logging.  Doug was known as the “lone wolf” and was a valuable part of the logging community for many years.  In 1994, he fell and broke his back and was forced to retire early.  During his retirement he spent as much time as he could out on his boat fishing on the “Big Pond” (as he fondly referred to Flathead Lake).  He will be truly missed by his family and many friends.  Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Vela Kelley; and a sister, Arnelda Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Libby; children Christina (Erik) Webb of Libby; Duane (Jamie) Kelley of Libby; and Lawanda Kelley of Stevensville, MT; grandchildren Nichole Fairbrother, Artesia Fairbrother, Shadow Fairbrother, Teesa Kelley, Shiroccho Kelley, Cody Kelley and Brandon Kelley; great grandchildren Collin Amato, Paisley Jacobson, Braxton Fairbrother and Caydence Fairbrother; brother Darald (Peggy) Kelley; and many nieces and nephews.
