I moved to Troy in 1971, a nervous sophomore. I was too thin, had no idea what to say to anyone and told stupid jokes. I haven't changed, but Connie chose to be my friend and because of her I felt special, like I was someone. We had a blast in high school and caused a lot of trouble. I'm pretty sure our parents and the school were relieved when we graduated. I realized as we got older that she had the God given ability to make everyone she knew feel special because she chose to be their friend.

I know that words are inadequate at a time like this, but I wanted you to know how very sorry my family is for your loss. May you find comfort in God's promise at Isaiah 41:10.
