ALBERT NIXON Obituary

Albert O. Nixon, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his home in Libby, Montana. Albert was born on June 19, 1928 to Worth and Lela (Johnson) Nixon in Libby and was the oldest of three brothers; Ray and Doug Nixon.

Albert spent his childhood growing up in Libby and Troy and was enlisted the U.S. military in 1950 where he served in the Korean War. He married his beloved wife Annis Mae Blink on November 6, 1953 and they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Tthey built their house on the farm north of Libby and raised four children. Albert worked for and retired from J. Neils Lumber Company and the State of Montana Highway Department.

Albert loved spending time with his family and was renowned for his story telling ability. He was a horseman and often talked fondly of his father's team of horses, Cash and Carry and his cattle horse Tony. Albert was a woodsman, a farmer, and a hunter but, his two greatest loves were fishing and trap shooting. He spent hours at the lakes, rivers and creeks trying to catch the big one and always proudly brought home bacon and turkey from trap shooting. His children have many fond memories to share of time spent with Albert fishing, hunting, sledding, working the farm, and riding horses. He spent many hours shooting the breeze with his brothers Ray and Doug and nephew Wade Nixon, all of whom he loved.

He is preceded in death by his parents Worth and Lela Nixon, wife Annis Nixon, and brothers Ray and Doug Nixon.

Survivors include his daughter Crystal Nixon; son and daughter-in-law Worth and Kim Nixon; daughter and son-in-law Cathleen and Dan Broers; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Roy Thompson; as well as four grandchildren, Daniel and Grant Broers and Daniel and Michaela Thompson; one great granddaughter Zoie Bunker; his sister-in-law Allyson Nixon; and many nieces and nephews, all whom he loved.
