Thomas Henderson Price Sr

Thomas Henderson Price Sr, age 97, of Eureka, MT passed away at his home on February 25, 2024. Tom was born in Eureka on July 16, 1926, to Thomas E & Alice Price, joining a sister, Claudia.  Later, his younger sister, Phyllis, joined the family.

Although he grew up in the Eureka area, Tom graduated from Flathead Valley High School in May of 1943.  The day after graduation, he was on a bus headed to basic training.  He was 17 years old and had signed up with the Navy before he graduated. Tom sailed on the navy ship, The USS Missoula, and served in the Pacific Theater.  He was an Iwo Jima survivor.

Four years later he returned to civilian life.  Tom became a husband, a father, and a working member of society.         

          He was awarded with the Congressional Veteran Commodation in 2020 by Governor Gregg Gianforte, joining a select community of more than 60 Montana Veterans recognized for serving our nation and then serving others in their own communities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bev; and his 2 sisters.  Survivors include his good friend Bobby Johnson of Eureka, MT; Sons Thomas (Butch) Delong(Annette) and Barry Price(Cathy) of Phoenix, AZ, Thomas(TH) Price of Eureka, MT, Willie Stevens(Tran) of St Louis, MO; Daughters Flori Purdy(Doug) of Eureka, MT, Gail Mee(Kelly) of Trego, MT, and Nancy Esplin of Washington State.  He has 15 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren.  He was also a surrogate father and grandfather to many more in the community.

Tom Price, our father, and friend too many…you will be sorely missed. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Eureka High School. Military Honors will be rendered at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery following the service. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local VFW to the "Raise The Flag Project".
