Ann Palmer--

Ann Marie (Shay) Palmer, 89, passed away on the evening of March 19, 2024. She was born November 29, 1934 in Lyons, Michigan to Allen “Bing” and Lillian Shay, and was the oldest of five siblings.

She spent her younger years in Trego and Eureka, MT, and then married the love of her life Robert “Bob” Palmer in June of 1952. They moved to Bremerton, WA, where they lived happily and raised their son Mike.

Ann worked diligently and endured many adversities over the years. After Bob’s death in 1979, she returned to Eureka, MT, to be closer to her family. Ann’s resilience and determination made her an inspiring and formidable woman, and those who were lucky to be close to her will fondly remember her “tough love” and dependability, along with her quick wit and fashionable taste. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, and keeping in touch with her many friends and family.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Palmer, sister Sandra Pluid, and brother James Shay. She is survived by her son Michael Palmer, Eureka, MT, granddaughter Kara Palmer and great-granddaughters Athena and Anastasia, Bigfork, MT, brother Pete Shay (Jo), Eureka, MT, sister Susan Lee, Kalispell, MT, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 12 to 12:30 p.m. at the Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Eureka; Montana. Following the visitation there will a graveside service at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Eureka, MT.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
