QUENTIN YOUNG Obituary

                Quentin “Pat” Max Young, 75, of Libby passed away April 15, 2018 at his home in Libby of natural causes.  He was born June 2, 1942 in Eureka, MT to Jack and Elva (Ridgeway) Young.  Following high school, Pat helped his dad run the Ural Ferry on the Kootenai River.  On December 11, 1959, he joined the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Midway.  While serving during the Vietnam War, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.  He received an Honorable Discharge from the US Navy on May 17, 1963.  Following his military service, Pat worked for Burlington Northern.  In 1965, Pat went to work for the St. Regis Lumber Mill.  He worked for St. Regis, Champion Lumber Company and then Stimson Lumber Company until his retirement in 2004. 

                On December 20, 1975, Pat married Angela Maynard in Coeur d’Alene, ID.  They were married for 38 years before her death in 2013.  Pat belonged to the Turtles; was a member of the NRA; and was a life-time member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion.  Pat had a heart for helping others and volunteered at the Libby Food Bank and for the Veteran’s Stand Down.  He will be missed by his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela and his parents, Jack and Elva Young.

                Survivors include his daughter Tina Seter-Young of Eureka; his brothers David Young and George Cotter; grandchild Quynn Titchbourne of Eureka; honorary grandchildren William Drake and Josh Drake both of Elko, NV; best friend, Joe Wade and a special boy to him Cazden Hume, who was the only person allowed to call him Quentin. 

Memorial Veteran honors for Pat will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Veterans Memorial Park in Libby with a luncheon to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Libby.  Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg &Nelson Funeral Home of Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
