GERALD L BASS

Gerald “Jerry” L. Bass, 77, of Libby, died on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Brendan House in Kalispell.  He was born on November 11, 1940 at Casper, WY to Marshal and Betty (Coleman) Bass.   He grew up and attended school in Sandpoint, ID.  His family moved to Libby when he was 13.

Jerry enlisted in the US Army on January 11, 1962, and he spent time in Germany before he was honorably discharged on January 9, 1964.  He went to work for J. Neils’ Lumber Company and stayed on there for 38 years.  He owned 2 trailer courts in Libby and a laundromat.  Jerry enjoyed working and reading.  He married Barbara Hume in 1985 in Spokane, WA.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2016.

Survivors include his siblings Sandra Hutcherson, Salmon, ID; and Richard Hunt, Olympia, WA.
