CAROL JEAN (BRICKER) MORTON

Carol Jean (Bricker) Morton, 84, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother died on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Libby Care Center.  She was born on December 16, 1932 in Douglas, Wyoming to Harley B. and Esther (Smith) B. Bricker. She moved to Laclede, Idaho in her youth and attended grade school there, and high school at Priest River H.S.

She married Houston Morton in 1952 and moved to Seward, Alaska where her sons Gary and Lee Morton were born.

In 1966 she moved to Libby, Montana. Jean was a past president of the women of the Moose Lodge and past president of the Eagles Auxiliary, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, past president of Community Thrift Store, a member of the Libby Fine Arts and member of the United Methodist Church in Libby.

She was preceded in death by her husband Houston, parents, her brothers Herbert and Gerald, and a sister Dolores.

She is survived by her sons and their wives Gary and Sara Morton; Lee and Jeannette Morton; sisters Sharon Mc Inturff (Bill), Judy Morton (Don), three grandchildren, three great granddaughters and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and sister in law Karen Bricker.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., June 15, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Libby with a reception to follow at the VFW.  Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
